we’re alive!
hey everyone
We’re finally checking in on a quick excursion to Luang Prabang we are currently doing our project phase now in a village called Bam Nam Nga where we are painting every inch of the village primary school. We have set up residence in the pre school and covered the place in the mosquito nets. Talking of mosquitos! Some people have been somewhat eaten alive and have turned into one big bite, Becki stopped counting at 50!
So far we have spent alot of time traveling up and down thailand and loas on various modes of transport, everyones favourite being the tuk tuk.
The acclimatisation trek pushed everyone especially the 2 hour vertical uphill climb of the seemingly never ending mountain. However the trek allowed us to stay with two different hill tribes and see a COMPLETELY different way of life.
Overall everyone is having a fantastic time though sometimes missing home and luruxies, but don’t worry we’re all ok. Laos is gorgeous and we’re enjoying everything about it.
To mums, dads and family “Hi missing you all, hope everyone is well”
We shall try and update the blog sooner next time
Bye for now!

Hi Becca ,
It is great to be hearing some news about all that you have been up to since you left. Sounds as if you are having a fantastic adventure . Very quiet here at home (apart from the builders on the roof) as everyone seems to be away on their hols. I got your message and have relayed every scrap of info to family and friends. We are all missing you very much.
Lots of love

Hi Rebecca,
We are following your progress day by day and are pleased that you are having a time of your life.
Your scratches, bruises and insect bites will soon fade but your memories will remain with you forever.
When you return you will also be skilled in the art of painting which we are sure will be of great benefit. You will be able to show everyone your new found techniques in the new extension at High Birches, there is also the stable, summerhouse, fences the list is endless. We also have a summerhouse, fences and shed that need a bit of attention.
Lots of love, keep safe,
Grandma & Grandad Ford

So glad to hear that my painting skills are already in planning into being put into action! After a week of painting the village’s primary and secondary school the thought of having to paint the extension is horrible! We are back in Luang Prabang now and have therefore enjoyed a proper Western meal (a week of plain rice and noodle dishes most definitely takes its toll – I’m most definitely craving one of Grandma’s roast dinners right now! ) We stay here for a couple of days until we make our way back into Thailand to complete our main trekking phase – something we are all very apprehensive of! The insect bites have indeed faded but will no doubt return when I’m back in the jungle – ah well, all part of the fun I guess! Hope everyone your end is safe and well – send Vera my love and tell her that I most definitely am behaving myself!
All my love as always
Rebecca

Hey guys!
Hope you are having a good time and it is not too horrible. Heard about the food poisoning and the leeches – sounds lovely. I, on the other hand have come back from a much more relaxing holiday in Greece and have much fewer bites. Anyway hope you have fun painting the school and climbing and counting bites and all the other ‘enriching’ stuff. Bet you realise why they call it World Challenge now. Miss you all – England is very quiet without you – and hopefully see you soon. Lots of Love

Hi Becca and everyone
Couldn’t miss out on adding our bit. You are missing nothing in England, normal summer service has resumed with wind, rain and grey skies and if we are really lucky, every now and then, a bit of blue sky and sun to remind us it really is July!!!
We are still dead jealous of you guys as we love that part of the world, although we do prefer 5* when we go!
Keep seeing the positive side of things and you will all be fine.
Bye for now

Hey guys!
So glad that you guys have left a message for me too! I feel so darn popular – aahaha. I wouldn’t worry about the weather too much – its been incredibly hit and miss here due it being the monsoon season. Besides, you’ll be in blinking Spain in no time! Still can’t believe that you guys will all be out there without me – make sure you do all the usual trips and remember any funny stories and jokes for me!
I’ll try my best to keep you all updated!
